The Pleasant Hill Recreation & Parks District sponsors the Pleasant Hill Tennis Club and many other recreation opportunities including tennis lessons.
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the primary organization dedicated to promoting tennis in the United States. PHTC is a member. Whether you are looking for the results of the most recent Federer-Roddick match, want to look up the rules of tennis, would like lots of free information on playing the game, or need to join because you want to play on a PHTC team in a USTA League, this is the place to go. Even if you don't need to join, you might want to--if only because membership brings you a great national tennis magazine filled with tennis news and tips as well as a separate publication with ne ws and tips published by the Northern California (NORCAL) section of USTA. See below. USTA membership also provides occasional preferred opportunities to get tickets for USTA events including the US OPEN. And if they have your e-mail address, you may get opportunities to get the best tickets for local professional tennis events--or even chances to volunteer a few hours of work as ushers (etc.) at such events in return for premium seats.
The Northern California Section of the USTA, better known as NORCAL is the actual organizer of the local area USTA leagues. See our USTA Leagues page for more information. Players interested in participating in leagues should become familiar with the "Leagues" portion of the NORCAL web site. For a list of current and recent Pleasant Hill Tennis Club teams, including rosters, schedules, and results, click on the "NorCal Search" link in the left column of the NORCAL home page. Then select "teams" in the first search box, enter "pleasant hill" in the second box, and click the Search button.
